If you drive for Grab in Malaysia and plan to stop e-hailing, you need to officially cancel your EVP (E-Hailing Vehicle Permit) and convert your vehicle back to private use. Cara Batalkan EVP Grab dan Tukar Kenderaan Kembali ke Kegunaan Persendirian
This process involves three parties: Grab, PUSPAKOM and the Road Transport Department (JPJ).
Proses ini melibatkan Grab, PUSPAKOM dan Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan (JPJ).
1. Cancel your EVP with Grab
Batalkan EVP dengan Grab
Start by submitting your EVP cancellation request through the Grab Driver app or the Grab Help Centre.
Mulakan dengan menghantar permohonan pembatalan EVP melalui aplikasi Grab Driver.
5 to 7 working days for standard requests. Urgent cases can be handled within 24 hours if approved by Grab support.
Once approved, Grab emails you the EVP cancellation letter. Keep it, you will need it at the next two steps.
Selepas diluluskan, Grab akan menghantar surat pembatalan EVP melalui emel.
2. PUSPAKOM B2 inspection
Pemeriksaan B2 PUSPAKOM
After receiving the cancellation letter, wait around five days, then go to PUSPAKOM for a B2 inspection, which is the inspection for a change of vehicle usage.
Pergi ke PUSPAKOM untuk pemeriksaan B2 (pertukaran kegunaan kenderaan).
Fees / Yuran: RM30 by appointment, RM28.50 walk-in.
What they check / Senarai semakan:
- Chassis and engine numbers must be clearly readable (nombor casis & enjin mesti jelas)
- Window tint must follow JPJ rules: front windscreen and the driver and front passenger sides are regulated, rear windows are not restricted (tinted ikut peraturan JPJ)
- All lights working, including the third brake light (semua lampu berfungsi termasuk lampu brek ketiga)
You will receive a PUSPAKOM inspection report once it is done.
3. JPJ: convert the vehicle status
Proses JPJ (Tukar Status Kenderaan)
Download and complete JPJ form K8 (Pind. 1/2016), then bring your documents to a JPJ branch. UTC counters cannot process this.
Bawa dokumen ke cawangan JPJ (UTC tidak dibenarkan).
Documents required / Dokumen diperlukan:
- Original vehicle grant (geran asal)
- Copy of your IC
- EVP cancellation letter from Grab
- PUSPAKOM inspection report
- Valid insurance cover note
What happens at JPJ / Di JPJ: your old road tax under the e-hailing code (AH) is cancelled, the vehicle status is changed to private use (AB), and you can apply for a road tax refund if you are eligible, generally where more than five months remain.
Once completed, your vehicle is officially back to private use.
Selepas selesai, kenderaan anda akan kembali kepada status persendirian.
Important notes / Nota penting
- Make sure your insurance is still valid before your JPJ visit (pastikan insurans masih aktif)
- Prepare photocopies of every document (sediakan salinan dokumen)
- Book your PUSPAKOM slot early (tempah slot PUSPAKOM awal)
- Keep all letters for future reference (simpan semua surat untuk rujukan)
